For natural-looking, sun-kissed highlights that are all the rage in highlighting, try the Balayage technique at Stanley Salon.
Originating in the exclusive Carita salon in Paris in the early 1970s, Balayage didn’t make the jump to the United States until the early 1990s.
Rather than the foil-separated sections found in traditional highlighting techniques, Balayage typically doesn’t use anything to separate highlighted strands from the rest of the hair. This results in a more natural, softer gradation of color and a softer effect.
You will work with your stylist to choose the best tone and placement for you to create a stunning final effect. Your stylist then hand-paints the color onto your hair, giving more attention to areas that need lightening.
Depending on the tones chosen, Balayage can result in less maintenance and fewer trips to the salon over the course of the year. However, due to the hand-painting and attention to detail the technique requires, you will spend more time in the salon during your initial appointment.
